Kobe's Tip

There are so many smells to investigate here, but don't let your pup's nose lead them too close to the cliff edges! Bring water, wear sturdy shoes and only consider off-lead exploring if your dog has excellent recall.

🐾 Kobe Says “Wide-open spaces, nobody else around and I was allowed off my lead… I thought this place was absolutely pawsome!”

Why This Adventure Is Special

Sea Caves gave Kobe exactly the kind of adventure he loves — wide-open spaces, freedom to explore and an endless supply of new smells. On a beautiful spring afternoon with nobody else around, he could run, sniff and chase his ball while we enjoyed the rugged coastline and distant views of the Edro III shipwreck.

Sea Caves, Peyia

Sea Caves was one of those adventures where Kobe knew immediately that there was exploring to be done. With wide-open spaces, rocky ground and an entire coastline full of interesting new smells, his nose barely stopped working from the moment we arrived.

We visited on a beautiful spring afternoon and were lucky enough to have the area almost completely to ourselves. With no other dogs around, Kobe was able to enjoy some off-lead freedom, running around, investigating everything and, of course, chasing his ball.

The landscape here is completely different from a normal beach walk. Instead of an easy route down to the water, the coastline is rugged and rocky, with the sea sitting below the cliffs. We could also see the famous Edro III shipwreck in the distance, although having visited it before, we were quite happy to admire it from afar this time.

For Kobe, though, the real attraction wasn't the view. It was the freedom. There was space to run, new smells everywhere and plenty of opportunities for a very thorough Cavapoo investigation.

The cliffs do mean you need to keep your wits about you. They didn't feel quite as dramatic as Cape Aspro, but we'd still only allow Kobe off lead when the area is quiet and we're confident he'll listen to us. Dogs without reliable recall — and particularly reactive dogs — would be much safer staying on a lead.

Sea Caves turned out to be a wonderfully simple adventure: sunshine, fresh coastal air, a ball, lots of sniffing and plenty of space to explore. Sometimes that's really all a little adventurer needs.

🐾 Kobe Says

"I couldn't stop chasing my ball today! The sea breeze was amazing and I'd definitely come back."
